Allotment Shop
No visit to the community garden would be complete without a visit to Park Lodge Lane Allotment shop. The shop is located in an old railway carriage next to the Park Lodge lane entrance to the allotments and as well as stocking everything a grower or livestock keeper could need is also a great place to call in for a cuppa, catch up on all the latest gossip and to find out what’s going on in and around the allotments.
Opening Times
The shop is a friendly place run by volunteers so opening times at present are limited to every Saturday from 10 am until 12 noon.
Membership and Benefits
The shop operates on a membership basis and as well as use of the shop the £3 per year membership allows members to buy seeds from Kings catalogue at discounted prices and use of the communal strimmer and rotovator.
Usually in stock are compost, lime, bone meal, slug pellets, weed killer, gardening tools, plant pots, poultry food, poultry cleansing products and straw, all at reasonable competitive prices.
Also available are home-made Jams, marmalade, chutneys, jellies, local eggs and honey when available.
